ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Artist Born, 1963, Hebei Province. Graduated from the Fine Arts Dept.of Hebei teachers College, BFA in 1988 .Graduated from the Fine Arts Dept.of Capital Normal University, MFA in 1997. The visiting scholar of Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Russia, 2003-2004. Visiting scholar of State University of New York at Buffalo in USA in 2005. Currently lives in Beijing. Associate Professor of College of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University, Beijing, China.
Wu Mingzhong has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including ‘History’ sold at Poly International Auction Co. ‘Modern & Contemporary Chinese Art Evening Sale’ in 2008 for $354,813. There have been Several articles about Wu Mingzhong, including ‘Artist ‘chills out’ in Beijing’s 798 Art Zone’ written for Global Times in 2014.
